Hi, nice to see You :)
I just finished reading a biography of Leonardo da Vinci by Walter Isaacson. I truly recommend to read it. At first, I afraid that this book will be boring. But Mr. Isaacson writes very interestingly. He not only writes dry facts about Leonardo, but he also gives some curiosities and some deep thought about Leonardo's technique and his works. Almost every page was giving me some new inspirations and a new point of view on art.
I always admire Leonardo as an artist and an engineer. After this lecture, I now can say that he was a big man who outruns his time. A lot of his discoveries, for example, he discovered how works aortic valves, were confirmed or rediscover years or centuries after his death. Unfortunately, he had a bad habit not to publish his works, so that's why these inventions had to wait all this time. Just imagine what would happen if we as humankind have this knowledge earlier. How medicine would be improved or how cities would look if they would be built as Leonardo design them. Cities where would be a clear divide between manufacture district and home district, where hygiene would be valid, how it would change the way of our life.
This book fires my inert passion for observations. As Leonardo, now I try to observe people in their natural habit, how they react, how different emotions are showing in their faces. I now also more curious about life, how things work and how nature work:)
I can recommend reading this biography everyone. It can open your mind to new ways of thinking about art and the world that surrounds us. :) Now I can understand what my coach Michał Wawrzyniak has on mind when he says that reading biography helps You to live a second life. Next in the queue is Seve Jobs' biography. :)
In this week, I also was working on some environment. I try to simulate the style of Studio Ghibli. Last Monday, I was streaming on Twitch my workflow on this picture. http://twitch.tv/krolikartist
I'm streaming every Monday so feel free to check me there :)
I hope You like it and see You here next Friday
